Secondary School Students – Check If You’re Eligible

💡 Many families qualify and don’t realise it.
Even if your child prefers packed lunches, your application can bring over £1,000 of funding to support teaching, activities, wellbeing and school resources.

Who Can Apply?

Students in:

• Year 7 to Year 11
• School Sixth Form (Years 12–13)

You may be eligible if you or your partner receive:

• Universal Credit (income under £7,400/yr after tax, excluding benefits)
• Income Support
• Income‑based Jobseeker’s Allowance
• Income‑related Employment Support Allowance
• Support under the Immigration & Asylum Act 1999 (Part 6)
• Guaranteed element of State Pension Credit
• Child Tax Credit (no Working Tax Credit + income under £16,190)

What You Need

• National Insurance number or
• NASS number (for asylum support)

How Long Does It Last?

• Most eligible students stay entitled until July 2026, regardless of income changes.
• From 2026/27, all children in households on Universal Credit will qualify automatically.
