Mobile Phones
King David High School - Mobile Phone Policy
When staff are referring to ‘Mobile Phones’ the school policy is very clear that this also includes; ear/head phones, smart watches, tablets and any Personal Electronic Device. Key Points for pupils and families to be aware of:
- Pupils are not to have their phones on their person when in school (unless authorised for medical reasons) after 8.20am.
-
If a student does not have access to their locker their Mobile Phone must be handed into the school office for collection at the end of the school day
- When entering the building:
- Pupils are not allowed to have their mobile phone visible.
- They must be placed into their locker prior to going into form class.
- Mobile Phones are not to be visible in the school atrium or any other area of school between 8.00am and 8.20am. (they will be confiscated if this is the case)
- Pupils will be allowed to go to their locker to place in their Mobile Phone from 8.20am
-
Any mobile phones that are seen in the possession of students or being used in school, for whatever reason, will be subject to the following:
- Mobile phone will be immediately confiscated (in the first instance) and held in the main office
- It will be returned to the pupil on the same day at 3.20pm (4.10pm on Thursdays) via their Head of Year or Pastoral Manager or through the school office
- All confiscations will be recorded as S4 mobile phone confiscation in accordance with the current school behaviour policy
- A second confiscation of a mobile phone will require a parent/carer to collect the phone from school.
- Any Confiscations after this will require collection from a parent/carer and will be viewed as a significant defiance of school rules and will be addressed in accordance with the school behaviour policy
- If a pupil is required to contact home, they must do so through the school office. Parents/Carers are also required to do the same
