Department statement on Remote Learning

To ensure an outstanding curriculum is maintained, the History department has planned resources which ensure the work provided is ambitious, appropriate, sequential and engaging for students. The department is also committed to ensuring students feel supported during this time, providing regular communication via a range of online platforms.

Points to note:

 ü Work will be made available to pupils from 8:30am on the day those pupils have a timetabled History lesson.

  • ü Pupils are expected to complete the work during their normal lesson time that day.
  • ü Proof of work must be submitted on Teams by the end of the week.
  • ü All links to lessons will be sent out via Edu link.
  • ü Work should be completed in the student’s class book, or, if done on the computer, printed/saved.
  • ü Students should ensure they record any feedback they receive into their class books.

How will it be delivered?

There will be a combination of teaching methods;

  • Zoom or Teams live video.
  • Pre-recorded lesson
  • Voiceover instructions on PowerPoint.
  • PowerPoints with clear instructions and tasks that have been designed so that students can work independently.
  • Class teacher available for Q&A during timetabled lesson via email or Teams

 How will students receive feedback?

Students will receive a range of feedback;

  • Answers given on PowerPoints, so students can self-mark their work.
  • Assessments will be marked as usual and feedback submitted via email or Teams.
  • Class feedback given – highlighting WWW/EBI
  • Individual and purposeful feedback given via Teams.
