Young Lord Mayor meets the Duke of Cambridge

The day I met the Duke of Cambridge

On the 19th June, I had the amazing opportunity as Young Lord Mayor to meet the Duke of Cambridge, Prince William. Prince William was visiting Liverpool to speak at the International Business Festival whilst also opening a centre for men struggling with mental health issues, James’ Place.

My role at this event was to meet His Royal Highness before he entered the festival. Prince William was extremely friendly and even took the time to speak to me and the Junior Lord Mayor. He asked me about my previous events and agreed with me about the importance of “meeting new people”.  Max Steinberg, our former Chair of Governors, was also there as he is now the chairman of the International Business Festival. I also briefly spoke to him and he revealed that he was happy to see someone representing King David at this important event. This was my third event and this journey has made me realise the importance of Civic Duty to Liverpool. I feel so fortunate for having this opportunity of a lifetime.
