The Healthcare Society and LivWise
The Healthcare Society, which was established this year by John Salter, attended a LivWise (Liverpool Women in Science) debate about the “Future of Healthcare “. The chair was Eleanor Farnworth, a former KD student who completed her A levels in 2005. The debate focussed upon whether or not there was a need to personalise and tailor healthcare to individual needs. For example one of the questions the panel tackled was on the subject of joint replacements which are currently “one size fits all”. It is however possible to 3D-print individual templates. Other issues discussed linked to genetic testing, obesity and GDPR.
