A Level Results Summer 2017

Analysis of the A Level results at King David indicate that 53% of grades awarded are at A*-B level.  We are really pleased, that once again, most students got into their first-choice university. There are also many impressive individual achievements.  Peter Higgins gained A*A*A and will take his place at the University of Sheffield to study Mechatronic and Robotic Engineering.  Hannah Jones and Emmanuel Akhidenor both achieved AAA and will study Medicine at the University of Leeds and Chemical Engineering at the University of Nottingham respectively. Abigail Birch, pictured to the right with Rhys Rodriguez, will take her place at Fitzwilliam College, University of Cambridge, to read Music.  Rhys has gained his place to study Philosophy and English Literature at the University of Edinburgh. Chloe Ross with A*AAA and Prashant Patel with AAB are taking gap years. Matthew Lawrenson, who achieved A*AAB will read Law at the University of Leeds next year and Joe Ryan, AAB, will take up his place to study Actuarial Mathematics at the University of Liverpool.  Jessica Lowe also achieved AAA and will study Business at John Moores University.

There were some outstanding individual results with Isobel Haygarth, Hannah Canter, Rhys Rodriguez and Layla Seddon all achieving A* grades in Art.  A* grades in other subjects were achieved by Joel Doherty for Psychology and Asher Lesin-Davis in Geography.  Well done also to Amy Allen, Harmony Atkinson, Tom Bateman, Jack Bradley, Matthew Collett, Niamh Hanson, Lily Houghton, Matthew Jones, Michael Jones, Kathryn Keane, Joseph Lewis, Ryan Lynch, Joseph Pearce, Nina Price, Molly Robinson, Emma Sanderson, Bethany Scott, Shun Smyth, Simeon Somefun, Mattia Strachan, Ben Thomson and Charlotte Von Bargen who were some of those awarded places at their first choice universities to study subjects ranging from History to Physiotherapy to Political Science and Philosophy.

Other courses our students will be pursuing at university this year include Primary Education, Psychology, Music, Environmental Geography, French, German, Linguistics, Graphic Design and Economics (to name but a few!).  51% of the students who have confirmed their offers have been awarded places at Russell Group Universities.

Our Y13 Leavers have been a great year group who have received just rewards for their mature approach, hard work and efforts which has been well supported by parents and the dedicated staff at school.  During their time at King David the students have not only developed academically, but also personally, as individuals.  Our students have contributed a great deal to the life of the school and local community, demonstrating great initiative, teamwork and leadership skills.  We would like to take this opportunity to wish them all every success for the future. We really will miss them all greatly.

The 6th Form at King David High School is open to all students with suitable GCSE grades. Although some courses are full, there are some places available for the new academic year and students can register for courses on and after Thursday 24th August.  The 6th Form is also open to students who have not previously attended the school.  Students or parents can contact g.dale@kingdavidliverpool.co.uk for more information.
